The nation's mayors met with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden at the White House Friday morning.

More than 60 mayors, along with the leadership of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, are participating in the event.

The group also will meet with Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr., Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, Energy Secretary Dr. Steven Chu, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and White House senior staff.

After the White House meeting, the mayors will gather at the Capitol Hilton to meet with Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson, U.S. Department of Energy Weatherization Program Director Gil Sperling and U.S. Department of Justice COPS Office Acting Director Tim Quinn.

USCM said the nation's mayors will commend President Obama and Congress for passage of the stimulus bill. Carlos Vogel, a USCM spokesman, said the mayors will talk with Obama about implementation of the plan.
