Black Vote Will Be The Key Tuesday
If You Think It's Bad Now-
Just Let The GOP Win.

W
ith less than 48 hours until the most imp
ortant midterm election in modern day history, the 'expert' pundits continue the rants that the GOP/Tea Party is certain to take over the House and possibly the Senate as well. During the past two weeks President Obama has traveled the country holding Moving America Forward rallies which have generated upwards of 30,000 attendees, all Fired Up and Ready To Win, proving false the media claims that Dems are not energized.

Early voting across the country has witnessed long lines of eager voters with reports that the vast majority are, in fact, Dem voters, another sign of the Fired Up spirit of Dems. Also, during the past couple weeks, Rev. Al Sharpton has traveled the country with a GOTV campaign designed to emphasize the importance of voting in this midterm to Black voters. On his daily nationally syndicated radio show, Black callers regularly voice their views regarding the upcoming election. Most are Fired Up...Ready to Win. Then there's the group which starts their calls with the same statement..." Obama hasn't done anything for Black folks...so why should I vote ?"

Recently, I posted The 244 Accomplishments of President Barack Obama (click link to read) which has received a decent amount of exposure tha
nks to the power of social media, although his accomplishments are rarely discussed in our 'great' media. Just one quick glance at the list proves that The President has done more in the last 20 months than most presidents have in 2 full terms. And the interesting thing about the list is that none of the accomplishments listed say 'for non-Blacks only'.

My point is, every one of the accomplishments that have been achieved have been for all Americans, which certainly includes all of my
Black bothers and sisters. Looking at the list from a Black perspective helps one realize just how ignorant the 'he hasn't done anything for us' statement actually is. And although all of this has been accomplished in just 20 months, The President regularly states that there's still much work ahead.

Despite the inclusion of increased funding to HBCU's which is obviously for Blacks, some will still claim "yea, but that list isn't specifically for us Black folks !" To those well caring brothers and sisters I must remind of the fact that, despite his pigmentation, he is The President of ALL Americans...NOT just Black America. Also, it would be political suicide for America's 1st Black President to get behind the podium and rant...." OK...now that I'm The Man...here's a list of what I'm going to do JUST for Blacks." Can you imagine ? Better yet, imagine if Dubya had gotten behind the podium and said " OK...here's a list of everything I want to do JUST for White folks !" There would be rioting in the streets....and justifiably so.

So The President has to do all he can in an all-inclusive manner, just as he has been doing....and don't forget, he's really just getting started. On the other hand, we have the G-No-P/Tea Party bunch, of whom every word that comes out of their mouths speaks against the needs of We The People...particularly We The BLACK (minority) People. I also recently compiled a list of what the GOP will do (click link) if they regain ultimate power and just one glance proves that they are one, very scary bunch, destined to literally ruining the Future of America....starting with all minorities.

They'll block all funding needed to avoid additional massive state layoffs of teachers, police, fire, etc.. They'll dedicate themselv
es to repealing health care reform, cut funds for Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and public education. You can kiss the funding to HBCU's goodbye and food stamps, unemployment checks, Section 8, aid for the homeless, all the social programs to help folks...what they ignorantly call 'entitlement programs' will be slashed drastically, while they fight for tax cuts for their rich cronies. They'll push for more state's rights, which is actually their way of saying " going back to the good ol' days (of supremacy) ", while simultaneously working to abolish the 14th Amendment. Let's not forget that they want to abolish the minimum wage, reverse financial reform so people, including Blacks, can get legally ripped off by the banksters. And don't forget their desire to increase the privatization of the prison system, which means the more folks put in jail, the more money their other cronies make. And what color do you think those prisoners will be ?

It's time to wake up. Sure, there's a lot of work ahead. But if Black folks don't turn out in mass numbers this coming Tuesday to literally block what I call the evil plot of the GOP...then if you think it's bad now (
while you're whining all the time about The President)....you haven't seen ANYTHING yet. Lastly, despite the fake polls pre-claiming GOP victory, most races across the country are actually VERY close. The one group that they are hoping or counting on to not show up at the ballot box Tuesday is the Black voters. Why ? Because they know, the Black Vote WILL Make The Difference ! Prove them wrong. It's time to vote as if your life depends on it....because It Does !

The Republican/Corporate Plot
to KILL The Middle Class

By Greg Jones

Since September of 2008 under President George W. Bush, unemployment has skyrocketed, banks have tightened credit , millions of homes have been foreclosed upon, all while the Republicans incredibly work in lockstep to do all they can to exacerbate the problem. For weeks they voted against much needed life-sustaining unemployment extension for millions of American families forcing many to literally starve. They've voted against desperately needed state aid funding necessary to avoid layoffs of police, fire, state workers as well as teachers. Although fiscal responsibility was never of importance during the Bush years, now while under the fake auspices of deficit concern, the very same group has rallied in unison to continue the Bush tax cuts for the super-rich, minimizing how the tax increase for the rich would help reduce the deficit by generating $678 BILLION to the Bush-depleted U.S. Treasury while pretending that the tax cuts won't continue to add to the deficit they 'claim' to be concerned with. Bottom line-they want the rich to get richer and the rest to literally be broke. But why ?

First, due to their absence of having any kind of concrete political plan or agenda to solve the country's needs, the Republican game plan has become to do all they can to bring the country down in hopes that Americans will be so frustrated that they'll vote for The Party of No in 2010 and particularly 2012 in retaliation. Regardless of the fact that they don't really have an actual viable candidate for the presidency, the Republicans feel that if Americans are financially broke enough, homeless enough, fed up enough in general, they will get an instant case of amnesia forgetting that this all started under Republican Bush...and will flock by multi-millions to the No Agenda gang to be rescued. Block unemployment benefits/checks. Make states force layoffs. Support banks not giving loans to individuals or small business owners, even with perfect credit. Help the economy spiral downwardly as fast as possible. Rep. Alan Grayson has actually received death threats for speaking out regarding the pathetic scheme of the Republican party whom MSNBC's Ed Schultz calls "economic terrorists". And although extremely anti-American, this master plan does have more potential for success than no plan or agenda at all. But the regaining of political power through strategic economic destruction is not the only goal of the Republicans.

As most know, the Republican party is 1000% on the side of big corporations. The very companies who have out-sourced all of the U.S. jobs in manufacturing, telecommunications, service industries and more to various foreign places across the globe, wherever they can get their products made for the cheapest price. Most are made in China, where so-called U.S. companies hire Chinese companies to make their products like Barbie Dolls, Tide detergent, Pampers, and the list (see list of 'American' products Made in China)) goes on, while continuing to give the impression that their products are 'Made In America'. Fact is, most products are NOT Made In America anymore due to corporate greed. Since the Chinese will sweat for hours sewing clothes, making car parts or Barbie dolls for 1/10th of American wages, greedy corporations have come to realize that they can't lose through the safety net called globalization. The only ones who do lose are the millions of Americans who become jobless as their jobs are been shipped overseas. So the 'Made In America' products are actually made in China, then shipped to America adding to the U.S. unemployment surge and the huge trade deficit which currently exists.

How can the greedy corporations expect Americans to buy their products if they're out of work...you might ask ? They don't. Henry Ford was once asked why he paid Ford workers such high wages. "That's the only way they can afford to buy one of my cars" he replied. But due to greed, those days are over. U.S. corporations have found a totally new customer base...a new market...and that is China which has 1.3 BILLION people (that's 1 billion more than the U.S.) and India with just a few less. As example, McDonald's Happy Meal sales have been down in the U.S. but overall the company is doing quite well thanks to all the Meals being sold in China and India. And the same applies for almost ALL products. So they don't care if we're too broke to buy their products because free trade has come to their greedy rescue. But there's still that little issue of the cost of shipping the products from China back to America which can be very costly.

The greedy sit....plotting "if only we could save more on the shipping". What if there was a way to get Americans to work for super low wages like the Chinese do. What if the unions could be broken up entirely and all previous wage agreements/contracts became null and void. What if there was a way to make Americans unemployed in such high numbers that they would take whatever job they could get, regardless of the wages, just for survival. What if, to speed up compliance, life-sustaining unemployment checks were stopped, forcing families to literally starve if they didn't settle for pretty much any job obtainable at the much lower pay. What if companies laid everyone off...and then said the only way they could be rehired was to take super-significant pay cuts and reduction in benefits. What if credit for small businesses was blocked by banks or government small business aid disabling them from hiring, growing or even staying in business. Hmmmm.

But the greedy corporations would need law makers, policy makers, political people like an entire political party to make this diabolical plot become a reality. What if a law was passed through the Supreme Court which allowed these same greedy corporations to be considered as an individual with the right to contribute unlimited funding for the political party/persons of their choice. The corporations could legally bribe the politicians with non-stop contributions to make their money-making scheme a reality. It would mean the total restructuring of the American workforce. Paying Chinese wages to workers right here in the good old U.S. of A while continuing to give huge bonuses and tax breaks to what would then truly grow to becoming America's ruling class. If only the corporations had a political party that would work the plan. And if that party was able to regain power they would be able to excelerate the scheme, making it come to fruition even sooner ! But noooo. No party would be THAT anti-American by tearing down our entire U.S. economy and workforce. But I can't help but to hear in my mind, the voices in unison of the Republican party...the very strategic Party of No...a.k.a. the Party of Greed...chanting THEIR version of those famous words....Yes We Can ! And supporting the originator of that inspirational phrase, President Barack Obama, is the ONLY way the 'killers of the middle-class' will be stopped. The Time Is Now...To Unite...AGAINST the master plan of the Republicans. Oh....and did I mention that they would also like to get rid of all so-called entitlement programs like welfare programs and Social Security...just to make sure we have no choice...but to follow the Chinese way. Sayonara.

Opt-In, Opt-Out, Co-Op, Trigger,
Medicare 'Buy-In'..with NO Public Option
Beware of the Health Reform
Hoodwinking

By Greg Jones
Blacks4Barack

As the Senate health care reform debate enters it's ninth day, one can't help but to stop...take a pause for the cause...to ask oneself...what is the cause ? Why exactly are we in need of health care reform ? Then I'm reminded that reform is needed so that the 47 million hard-working Americans will finally have access to quality health care; something that should be a basic right, but in America is not. I'm reminded that the 47 million are struggling throughout life without the right to see a doctor for health care, not because they don't want to be able to get health care when sick, but in most cases it comes down to the simple fact that they can not afford it. That is why, during the past number of months, thousands of sick Americans have been forced to visit make-shift traveling free clinics for the rare opportunity to be seen by a doctor, a vision usually reserved to third-world countries. But, if they are not turned away due to overcrowding, sick Americans stand in the long lines for hours for the basic right to health care, in hopes of not becoming one of the 44,000 who die each year due to the lack of health care access.

From day one, this is whom health care reform is supposed to be for. Reform is supposed to create an affordable means of health care for the 47 million struggling without. But as we watch the reform debate unfold one can't help but notice that the supposed purpose of reform is becoming more and more watered down each day. With intentional 'plans' being proposed specifically for the purpose of not truly serving the needs of the struggling, we hear of new catch phrases like opt-in, opt-out, co-op, trigger, now there's even a new hammer...all designed to not meet the health care needs of the millions.

It has become obvious to all that the health insurance industry basically bribes our politicians through 'lobbying' (legalized bribery) and that most of our politicians, our 'servants of the people', are really in fact servants for the insurance cartel, which is why it is of vital importance that We The People stay focused on the true health care needs of our Country while not allowing ourselves to be hoodwinked and bamboozled throughout the process.

During the entire debate, one component of health care reform that has remained constant is the fact that there will be a mandate/law forcing all Americans to have or buy health care insurance or be penalized; absolutely fantastic news to the insurance profiteers. This would not be a terrible idea if a truly affordable alternative to the existing high priced insurance coverage was created. Keep in mind, the 47 million want coverage...they simply can not afford it ! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if a mandate/law is put into affect, but the rates are still unaffordable, the end result will still remain millions of Americans uncovered, still struggling without health care; but now they'll be under added stress because they'd also be labeled 'lawbreakers' for not earning enough money. And when they get so severely sick that they are forced to go to the emergency room for care will they refrain in fear of getting 'caught' ?

We're hearing about 'subsidies' (government covering part of the premium cost) which will be initiated to help insurance premiums become more 'affordable' for the struggling, but no one has discussed exactly how theses subsidies will work. If the government is going to pay the greatest portion of the monthly premium then that's one thing. But if the government wants and expects the struggling to pay the high monthly premiums out-of-pocket only to be subsidized through a tax deduction or tax credit come tax time in April, that would be disastrous, considering the fact that struggling Americans simply do no not have 5, 6, 7 hundred or more extra dollars a month to make the monthly high-priced premium payments. So they're bound to be forced to go without, still sick, struggling without health care, but now a lawbreaker. And without the alternative lower-costing plan in affect such as a strong, competitive public option, who knows how high the monthly payments could end up. So the key question that must be answered is how the subsidies will be administered.

As a new twist, we are now hearing this brilliant concept of allowing individuals, possibly as young as age 55 to 'buy-in' to Medicare; a plan being proposed instead of a strong, competitive public option which would drive down costs through competition. The key phrase here (which the politicians and the media seem to leave out) is 'buy-in'. As I listened to callers on CSPAN this morning saying what a great idea that more people will be able to 'get' Medicare, it was obvious that they were unaware that more people aren't going to 'get' it...but now a certain group of people (estimated to be approximately 3 million) will have the opportunity to 'buy it'. Before we jump up and down with glee over this new proposal we must ask but one simple question: How much will it cost ? If the cost is not significantly cheaper than what exists now through the cartel, what's so great about it it ? It would still be unaffordable.

And common sense should lead us to another question: What about everyone else...the care seeking struggling people who are under the age of 55 ? What...just no reform for them at all ? So if you're between the ages of 27 and 54 you're supposed to just be forced to pay-since there would not be a strong public option under this brilliant plan-the current high cartel rates, which are increasing rapidly, or continue to struggle, sick without health care access while, again, becoming labeled a lawbreaker. And to our politicians I ask, "You call this reform ?"

Mark my words, a health care reform bill is going to pass because our politicians are going to do everything they can to make sure the mandate goes into affect. (evident by the fact that not one Democrat NOR Republican is speaking out against the mandate) But we must ask ourselves, if there is no 'truly affordable' health care plan developed...should there be a mandate ? We must not be fooled into thinking that our objective is to simply 'get something passed' for political purposes, as we are hearing, but rather get something passed that truly addresses the health care needs of the struggling. In other words...true reform !

If we don't ask the right questions...call...fight...and DEMAND answers and true, affordable access to quality health care for all, then one day we could look up, and after everyone comes from under the ether from all of the bragging about the historic passing of the health care bill, we could actually find ourselves in worse shape than we are in now. Don't be hoodwinked. Ask the questions...get the answers as if your life depended on it. One day, it just might.
